Engraved with the Order of the Garter. The Order of the Garter is the highest British order of chivalry, limited to the Monarch (Sovereign of the Garter), the Prince of Wales, and 24 Knights. The dishes are engraved both on the lids and the inside with the royal badge with a coronet
