The middle panel is made from an alloy of copper and gold
Turning it over we find the initials CC - in high carat yellow gold - and a date: October 8th 1902
complete with brooch fittings and original detachable pearl-set bail

It dates from the mid Victorian period, circa 1870, clearly intended as a mourning memorial piece. It's a good size (6. 5 x 4. 1cm) and contains two locks of hair inside behind the original glass.
