Georgian Coral Charms tiara established in Birmingham in 1850DATE: Georgian, c. 1820 A cool antique pendant with a coral manu fica hand, amulet and a gold hand holding a heart. It dates from the Georgian era, circa 1820 and is crafted in 18k gold. The Manu Fica (aka figa, fig hand, mano fico) is an ancient obscene gesture, intended to figuratively represent sexual union. It was used to ward of the Evil Eye, apparently on the assumption that evil can be repelled by obscenity; that even demons will flee from the
