The sapphire is faceted to the reverse, and is GCS certified at 5. 59 carats, mounted in a circa 1880s 18k gold mount. The shield is home to a horse, and rests under a knight's helm with ornate ribbon embellishment all around it. It's rare to find a such a special piece. STONES Natural Ceylon Sapphire
